Cops should be allowed to use tasers on highly unruly criminals. The problem comes in when they use them excessively. In major cities throughout the country the police are using them irresponsibly. As with many other aspects of law enforcement, it comes down to issues of training and accountability. Punishments or reprimands must be doled out if suspects (or innocents) are hospitalized from being tased unnecessarily.

If Tasers are restricted policemen will be forced to draw their guns quicker and even more often. While they can be lethal, police use them to defuse situations so that they can avoid using deadly force. They just usually don't have any way of knowing if a suspect has a condition that makes them unable to handle the shock. There's always one sure way to avoid getting tasered. Don't commit the crime!
